Prof. Gao Suixiang is Vice-Chairman of the University Council and Vice-President of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) .
From 1998 to 2000, he conducted post-doctoral research at the Graduate University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (GUCAS). He served as an Associate Professor at GUCAS from 2000 to 2004, becoming a Professor in 2004. Since 2004, he has served as Deputy Dean of the Department of Mathematics, Director of the University Admissions Office, Director of the Examination Centers, Director of the Network Center, and Assistant President of GUCAS (UCAS). He now serves as UCAS Vice-President and Vice-Chairman of the University Council.
His research interests include: graph theory and its applications, network optimization models and algorithms, algorithm design and analysis of combinatorial optimization, and big data analysis methods and applications. He has hosted and participated in more than 10 national research projects and applied research projects for large enterprises. He has done significant research concerning computational complexity and communication network optimization and received the "Operations Research Applications Award of China", the “Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Prize” and other awards. He holds seven national patents. His textbook, "Graph Theory and Network Flow Theory”, was recognized as being Beijing Municipal Higher Education quality instructional material.
