Regulations for Scholarship Issuance during the COVID-19 Pandemic

In order to ensure the scholarship issuance for international students during COVID-19 pandemic, based on relevant documents and the reality of UCAS, we have formulated regulations as follows:

  1. Class of Graduation

The scholarship will be issued till the month of graduation as confirmed by UCAS (not exceeding the maximum subsidy period).

  1. Non-graduating Class

The scholarship awardees who stay in China can receive their scholarships as usual, as long as they attend courses and complete scientific research tasks as required by their colleges or CAS institutes.

From September 2020, for the scholarship awardees who stay outside China, their scholarships will be issued based on the following situations:

(1) Students who finish online courses and scientific research tasks as required by their college or institutes, ensure normal academic progress and pass academic examinations will receive the suspended scholarships after they return to UCAS college or host institutes. They are required to fill out application form for scholarship reissuance, submit supporting materials, and get the permission of their supervisors and host institutes.

(2) Students who fail to ensure the normal academic progress and pass academic examinations can retain scholarship eligibility with the consent of their supervisors and host institutes after they return to UCAS colleges or CAS institutes. The suspended scholarships will not be reissued.

(3) Students who cannot finish online courses or research tasks can apply for academic suspension, with the consent of their supervisors and host institutes. The scholarships will be suspended as well.

  1. New students (Enrolled in 2020)

Scholarships will be start to issue after new students finish on-site registration at UCAS and pass the recheck of admission qualifications.
