Admission Guideline of UCAS New International Students
Welcome to UCAS! Here are some important items for your attention.
To apply for the X1 visa, the international students need to submit the following materials to the Chinese Embassy and Consulate:
Note: The originals will be required in application for the Residence Permit in China after the student arrives in China.
The registration time and place are on the admission notice. Please register on time. If you are not able to register in time due to unavoidable accidents, please ask for leave to your institute/college in advance.
To apply for residence permit in China, the international students need to bring the following materials to the Administrative Department of the Entry and Exit of Foreigners:
Foreigners are required to complete accommodation registration procedure within 24 hours at the local police station after arrival and get the Temporary Residence Registration Form.
New students should go to local International Travel Healthcare Center within seven days after arrival to verify the original physical examination record for foreigner or take physical examination, and then get the Foreigner's Health Certificate.
For students in Beijing, please contact with Ms. Hu Menglin (humenglin@ucas.ac.cn) for this form. For others, please contact with your host CAS institute.
1) After getting Residence Permit in China, please register again at the local police station and get a new temporary residence permit form within 24 hours.
2) If you shift your living place, please renew your living address at the local police station and get a new temporary residence permit form within 24 hours.
V. Late of early registration
The student should ask for permission first if he/she cannot register on time if he/she fails to register within the registration expire date on the Admission Notice, he/she will be regarded as giving up his/her admission. The registration extension period is no more than 1 year. Nevertheless, the awardees of CAS-TWAS President's Fellowship and UCAS Full Scholarship for International Students should be noted that they only have an extension period of no more than 2 months, while the awardees of Chinese Government Scholarship have to register before October 15th of the awarded year. Awardees who fail to register within the time limits will lose their Fellowship/ Scholarship.
