Dr. Li Shushen was born in Hebei in 1963. He is currently Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Secretary of CPC Committee and President of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research focuses on semiconductor physics.
Dr. Li was elected as member of CAS in 2011 and fellow of the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS) in 2015. He was the Director General of the Institute of Semiconductors, CAS.
