Lecture 8: History and Development of Electronics
Speaker:By Wu Yirong, Member of CAS
Time: 19:00-20:40, Nov. 27 (Thursday)
Venue: Auditorium of Yuquan Campus, UCAS
About the Speaker:
Wu Yirong, born in Beijing in 1963, was graduated from Beijing Institute of Technology with bachelor and master degrees before obtaining his doctoral degree from Institute of Electronics, CAS (IECAS). Elected as Member of CAS in 2007, Professor Wu is serving as research fellow and Director of the IECAS.
Prof. Wu's research fields mainly focused on the design and development of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and large-scale remote sensing ground processing system. He has systemically solved a series of theoretical problems and developed key technologies about high-resolution airborne SAR and motion compensation technology, signal processing algorithms, and systematic structure and algorithms of remote sensing satellite ground processing and application system.
In these fields, the professor has chaired a number of major national scientific research projects featuring large scale, complicated technologies and profound significance. Wu was awarded the first prize for National Scientific and Technological Progress Award, the second prize for National Defense Progress Award.
